The Trials of Cato join Wooden Ship

Phil Simpson who works with Calan in the UK suggested I look into The Trials of Cato who were to perform at Folk Alliance in Montreal. I was blown away. After the official showcase I overheard someone say, “This is the best thing at Folk Alliance in years”. I don’t know about that, as there is always a lot of talent, but it wasn’t far from the mark.

Very excited to work with these lads.

West of Mabou joins Wooden Ship

Young, talented with a high energy show, West of Mabou is our first artist who uses a drum kit. Traditional tunes from Ireland, Scotland and Cape Breton (mostly) with just enough rock-n-roll to make it irresistible.

From Saskatchewan, they have made a strong impression north of the border and are now looking to bring their brand of excitement to the US. Nice folks, hard workers, we are excited to work with them. I mean, look at this photo, they are obviously loving what they do.

Connla is coming to the US next week

Following up on their successful Festival runs in 2017 and 2018, Conna is doing its first theater tour in the Mid-west US starting in Manhattan (Kansas that is) January 12th and finishing up playing the Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour on January 28th.

They will also be at La Crosse and Milwaukee Irish fests and others this summer, we hope you get to catch them.

“Connla were one of the stand out new acts of 2018 on the Irish festival circuit, turning heads and capturing hearts at every gig. Top quality musicians, original and innovative, and really goodhearted people” – Enda Scahill, We Banjo 3
